Why should my child practice karate?
Youth karate promotes hand-eye coordination, balance, and focus. It also gives children and teens the opportunity to interact with their peers and grow their confidence.
There are three levels of youth karate classes available:
Toddler Karate (ages 3-5 years)
Toddler Karate is a program to prepare young children for success in the martial arts. The curriculum is designed to teach the whole child; we offer exercises to improve coordination (fine and gross motor skills), flexibility, strength, focus, awareness, and concentration. Children will meet once per week for a ½ hour session.
Children’s Class (ages 6-11 years)
The children’s class is a program specifically designed to meet the needs of elementary children. While children are expected to remember the core curriculum of Iron Will Inner Arts, the curriculum is modified and presented in a way that is both fun and challenging. We emphasize physical fitness, self-discipline, decision-making skills, focus, and building self-esteem. Children meet 1-3 times per week for 45 minutes – 1 hour sessions.
Junior Class (ages 12-15 years)
Our junior class prepares students to become healthy, happy, and productive young citizens in the community. Through an intense, but fun martial arts program, students will learn self-discipline, self-awareness, and self-esteem. Students learn to bridge the gap, gaining independence, authority and responsibility. Also, through cooperative learning environments, students have an opportunity to develop positive social relationships. Students meet 1-3 times per week for 45 minutes – 1 hour sessions.
